The Expo for us is to connect with different stakeholders in order to achieve the common goal of bettering our environment. We want to tackle the issue of one-time plastic, and see if it is possible to develop a food container that is completely plastic-free and chemical-free, yet safe and strong enough for storing food, and can be converted to clean energy after use. That is what we called circularity.
We are sponsoring plant-based lunchboxes at the Expo to reduce plastic usage at eateries. They will be sent to the O·PARK1 and be converted into clean energy after use.
EPSE concentrates on cleaning industrial wastewater, including the soluble metals and heavy metals. A few weeks ago, we established a brand new company, EPSE APAC Hong Kong LTD, and our next target is to open a technology hub in Hong Kong. We have already met around 30 potential partners on Day 2. It is much more than we have expected and we are very happy about it. We already have contacts from Vietnam, Japan, Thailand, Mainland China, Hong Kong. So I guess if we can have another ten new ones tomorrow. All of the contracts from those countries can be worth millions of US dollars per year. We are already happy if we can get to work with 10 to 20 percent out of those 40 contacts.
Our company has been established for 21 years. We brought our three key products to this fair, including food waste treatment, plastic-based chemical products and biodiesel. Our goal at this fair is to expand Hong Kong market for products and solutions outside biodiesel, and to reach more customers in Hong Kong.
At this stage, we have met with 15 customers from Mainland China and overseas countries. I anticipate that we will receive 2 potential orders from northern China. Last night, we had a few business meetings with several customers who are also from China arranged by HKTDC.
We have received enquiries from buyers from Denmark, Belgium, and Germany, and other European countries, as well as from the US and Canada. Two clients from Australia also expressed great interest. In addition, we have engaged with buyers from Hong Kong, including the mass transport system and community infrastructure companies, etc. HKTDC has facilitated our online business matching meetings through the Click2Match platform. We have secured customers from Australia, France and Germany, with orders for over 100 vehicles.
We would like to bring the technology of upcycling plastics and its standardisation into the Hong Kong market through our collaboration with our partner from Switzerland. Through the Eco Expo we also found that there are different brands in Hong Kong that are searching for upcycling solutions. We have also interacted with buyers from around the globe such as France, Russia, Hong Kong, and Taiwan etc. In addition, we connected with a potential business partner that could help us find better solutions. This is unprecedented at the other exhibitions we have been.
We are thankful for the HKTDC in providing the Click2Match platform before and after the start of the Expo that facilitated the bridging of different stakeholders. Through the platform, we scheduled online meetings with five to ten buyers from Russia and European countries to be taken place soon, as well as physical meetings with Hong Kong buyers. And ‘EXHIBITION+’ as an online platform definitely provided great help for us. I think it is a continuation of the Eco Expo Asia that provides us additional promotional opportunities.
We have been providing comprehensive environmental services in Hong Kong for more than 40 years, such as environmental sanitation, landscaping, recycling, waste management, pest control, etc. We are also trying to use the IoT and other new technologies to carry out green tech work.
We have never been absent from Expo since 2014, just because it is a well-known platform in the industry. It attracts many large-scaled local companies and even governmental officials. Before the exhibition officially started, I had already received double-digit meeting invitations via “Clcik2Match”. Those buyers from local, Southeast Asian and mainland China proactively contacted us. Based on past experience, we usually establish at least 40 new connections. The online exhibition platform ‘EXHIBITION+’ enables buyers and exhibitors to interact freely, even if they are from different countries. This is a good idea and is definitely a trend.
At this fair, the products we showcase mainly focus on the facilities of smart cities and autonomous buses. We successfully contacted buyers and dealers from Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, and Kazakhstan, as well as Hong Kong government departments and different large companies. We have received 50-60 business cards in the first two days, in which more than half are the potential partners. Buyers we had contacted in the past also visited our booth this year. Last year we received 10 orders for electric minibuses at the fair, a total of HK$20 million. I anticipate that this year we will receive 2 autonomous bus orders from different property management companies.
At this fair, we demonstrate our latest decarbonization tech, CIONEX, it adopts our IX technology to capture atmospheric carbon dioxide, which can then be up-cycled for materials production, such as compost enrichment to achieve sustainability. By the third day of the fair, we had established about 30 new contacts, mostly Hong Kong customers, such as gas companies, public transportation service companies, and real estate companies. With the global trend of promoting ESG, I estimate that among those 30 new contacts, one third will become our customers, and 5-6 of them asked me for the quotations. I hope we can receive 3 orders here. We also contacted potential customers from Italy and Egypt. There were some guided tour groups from Japan and Singapore visiting us.
Being the biggest environmental company in China, we began our environmental protection business in 2003 and now we have more than 600 projects in China, totalling RMB 180 billion.
I am exceedingly impressed by the results of the first two days of the fair. The organisation of HKTDC is very efficient and the buyers really came here to understand our business. Colleagues who were at the booth all reported to me that this fair has attracted a lot of attention towards our brand. As of the second day, we had received more than 200 business cards, some from Australia, Vietnam, and Southeast Asian countries. This number indeed was a surprise. I think the entire experience and services are in the right place. HKTDC also arranged a guided tour for us, and the online meetings were very smooth. We met with more than 10 Mainland and Hong Kong companies. In terms of branding and business promotion, this time we really achieved satisfactory results.
We are here to find new products to sell to the Thailand market. I went to see a company’s booth and they have a very impressive new technology used for air purifiers that enables them for fewer filter replacements. I believe it has potential to be sold to Thailand since they have products that can cater to households, commercial, and industrial buildings. We aim to start from ordering products at the Expo at a value of around USD100,000.
We are a Singaporean energy solution company, with one part of our business: energy management. Today we met with 7 exhibitors already, with a few of them wanting us to bring their products to Singapore, adding them to our distribution network, or our software system. Mostly China, Switzerland, and the US are where we source our products currently. In the fair, we are mostly interested in HK, Australian, and Canadian companies.
My thoughts on the fair are that it is very well organised. We plan to revisit the fair tomorrow, along with the lighting exhibition in Wanchai. I was able to use the Click2Match system to favourite exhibitors I found interesting; I plan to scan through the exhibitors first before looking in the app to message and arrange meetings.
The overall impression for the fair is good. We work in the clean energy industry and the Expo suits what we do. It is wonderful that we are able to meet with new suppliers and buyers. We have had 8 meetings with exhibitors from Mainland China and Hong Kong. There are around 3-5 exhibitors that we like to keep in touch with and are even thinking of sourcing from their agents in Indonesia. I think this Eco Expo is the right place to find have reliable technology from reputable vendors and suppliers. We will definitely come back next year for the experience.
This is our first time joining exhibitions in Hong Kong. We are interested in three companies that are from Hong Kong and Mainland China. One of which specialises in farm waste treatment. And another provides online monitoring for gas thermal power plants. We have met six companies through business matching meetings arranged by HKTDC. One of which is from Finland. And for orders, we are aiming to spend around US$ 500,000.
Our company is working on environment detecting systems. This is our first time joining the Eco Expo Asia. I have met and had in-depth discussion with several exhibitors from Mainland China and Hong Kong, and I think those three companies meet my expectation. We are looking to buy in the range of US$50,000 to 100,000. I think physical exhibitions like Eco Expo Asia has its value. I am happy that we were able to match with business partners. We will possibly join the Eco Expo next year as well.
BJM Paper Recycling Co., Ltd. specialised in paper and plastic recycling business in Myanmar. We are looking for the latest wastewater recycling solution. Through HKTDC’s business matching meetings, we identified the Vibratory Membrane Advanced Treatment from a Hong Kong Company. that harnesses membrane separation technology for applications involving a variety of industrial waste liquids, such as oil, water and chemical wastes; and will likely spend US$800,000 on this treatment installation in a new factory.
