In 1990s, Hong Kong was highly competitive in the international electronics industry. We started out by trading electronic components and later became an EMS (Electronic Manufacturing Services) factory, gradually we set up factories in Shenzhen and Dongguan. Nowadays we manufacture hardware for servers. Apps like Taobao, WeChat, and Tencent QQ, all rely on our server support. We work with major global manufacturers to develop the hardware, now we are boasting over 20 in-house designed models, and we keep innovating according to the market needs. Through this exhibition over the years, we have worked with global clients from Poland, Germany, the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, and the United States. Since our current customers in China are all tier one brands. Therefore, the purpose of being part of this exhibition is more to understand the market demands and trends, build brand image, and interact with global industry experts. Some of our exhibits are high in value, we appreciate the flexibility of the HKTDC which has made it easier for us to arrange logistic.
We are a tech company established in 1996. We have been committed to R&D innovation and development of various high-performance products for more than 20 years. So far, we have received more than 150 patents, leading the industry at the forefront. For human products, we devised the first ball-bearing switch to replace mercury switches in 1997. More products such as angle-sensitive, vibration-sensitive and centrifugal force-sensitive switches are ongoing now. We also applied our tech in various products for remotely managing the farm animals.
I value every opportunity to participate in physical exhibitions to raise our new customer proportion in a more proactive way, rather than passively waiting for new customers online. We received 10 business cards on the first day of the show, and several of them were new customers. Since the show is global, and we've been coming here for the past 10 years, we've never aimed to get any orders right away for our long-term-development products. Our main goal here is to expand our business and establish a long-term partnership. I think that as long as they have been here and will continue to be active in the same technology field, even if they are not my clients now, they will be in the future. I have been to many overseas fairs, including those in Mainland China, Taiwan, the United States, Germany, etc. Overseas buyers value creative and innovative products and technologies, and they are also the leader of the innovation market. They are always our target. The number of overseas buyers in Hong Kong has always been higher than that in Mainland China and Taiwan.
We are the largest electronic industry association in Taiwan with 3006 members. Most of them are from the top manufacturing tier to the lower tier of the electrical and electronic device field. They produce semiconductor electronic components, passive components, home appliances, mobile phones, etc. We have been facilitating communication between the government and manufacturers, and providing marketing services to manufacturers, such as taking delegates to more than 100 exhibitions around the world, visiting the United States, Germany, Italy, France, Munich and providing project and personnel training.
This year is the first physical exhibition to resume after the pandemic. Our manufacturers came here to have a look at the exhibition, to contact their previous buyer groups and get acquainted with the new buyer groups. This year, the organiser has been very attentive in arranging electronic exhibitor passes and scan2match those digital gadgets. The exhibition has attracted more buyers from the Middle East, India, and Southeast Asia. Our exhibitors reflected that the number of potential buyers was more than expected. We will definitely come back next year. This Autumn fair is a crucial platform for Taiwan manufacturers to promote their products to the global market. I believe they are confident to keep participating in the show in the future.
We are a high-tech innovative company from Mainland China. Founded in 2014, we specialise in providing customers with intelligent solutions using robots, such as pet companion robots, food delivery, and service robots. We have always focused on the Taiwan market, and this time we wanted to see if we have any new breakthroughs in the industry, so we brought our newest product, the Pet Companion Robot here.
As of now, we have contacted over 30 new contacts from Brazil, Middle East and Thailand who are interested in the Pet Companion Robot. We expect to receive 40-50 orders throughout the show, and we've received about 30 orders as of the third day.
I have been here since 1998. We are selling all kinds of electronic products to fit our customer needs. We usually ask our customers to let me know what products they want from us and I can sell more. This year, I came here to look for some new business partners for the joint venture opportunity and I am glad to discover one Hong Hong supplier that I would like to partner with. My goal is to identify 1-2 more new suppliers in this fair. Until the second day, I’ve actually made approximately 10-15 new contacts in this fair. They all come from Mainland China and of course I will go back to further study their company background, products and assembly line.
Through the Scan2match platform, I can easily get a brief concept of the products but it’d be a lot better to deal with these suppliers face-to-face. They have to know what we are doing and vice versa. Mutual understanding and sharing similar company vision are exceedingly important. Generally speaking, I am satisfied with the fair arrangement and business matching process facilitated by HKTDC. Out of 8 business meetings, there might be 1 potential partner I’m interested in.
Our business resells educational kits, 3D printers, and electronic components online. From this fair, I discovered one educational kit made for the students which is exactly what we are looking for STEAM education, science, technology, engineering and mathematics. We have already discussed how to import and resell the products in Brazil for pre-school and university students at their early stages. At this moment, I have just received quotations. I estimated that we’d like to purchase $50,000 US dollars on them.
I have been walking around to brainstorm ideas for innovation these days. Among those 10 contacts I got in these two days, there were 3 potential suppliers I am interested in. They come from Taiwan, China and Hong Kong. As we have already formed some partnerships with Chinese suppliers before, it is a great opportunity to meet other suppliers or manufacturers from other regions. The HKTDC apps were helpful. I’d come again next year.
